The house made from one log

The One-Log house in Garberville, California, is a house made out of a single huge redwood log. It was built in 1946 and took 2 men eight months to hollwo out the log. The house has a 7-foot high ceiling, is 13 feet in diameter and 32 feet long, and squeezed into it is a comfortable kitchen, bedroom, living room, and dining room.

The One-Log house is actually on wheels and was intended to tour across the country and it did so in it's early years, before running into problems. It is finally settled at Garberville after arriving there in 1999.

  1. You make that same tree into 2x4 boards and build a home 10 times larger. This is a WASTE of a tree.
