Superheroes in Old War Photos

Indonesia born photographer and illustrator Agan Harahap uses his Photoshop skills to insert pictures of some of our beloved superheroes like Spiderman, Superman and Batman into memorable political and wartime photos from the mid-20th century in his new project called “Superhero Photography”. Funny stuff.

Way to go on slagging off the guys who lost their lives in WW2 right coming up to armistice day. I'm glad your life is so easy.

I'm all for comedic value of inserting superheroes where suitable, but perhaps not here and now.

I could see this working if the superheroes looked more candid, perhaps, or even if they just had the same graininess as the war photos. As it stands, they suck.

Man, you missed a golden opportunity! Captain America would have been perfect for these pics! The others don't really work as none of them were WW2 era superheros.

the idea ain't bad itself but in most of those pictures the heroes don't really fit in the story the photos are trying to tell. the picture with castro seems to be the only one that tells anything at all

I really don't understand the point of this. Ooooh. I photoshopped random superhero's (and darth vader, not sure why he's lumped in with superheros) into old photos. This sucks.

Ugh. Darth vader looks like he has one of those plastic swords you buy at KB Toys or something.

The others look freaking awesome!

Darth Vadar is NOT a superhero!!!!

Now that I really think of it... didn't Darth Vader kill the emperor? He DID bring peace and justice to the galaxy after all and he died doing so. Just like the guys in World War 2.

Sure. He was not saint, but neither were the soldiers in the WW2.

Is there any point in these pictures? Of course there is. It shows the distinction between generations. New generation does not have the casual heroes. Nowadays you are more likely to get sued if you help someone - just dial 112 and let the guys handle the situation and off you go. We do need the heroes anyway. Heroes are needed because we want to be better than we are. We need role models. Either from real world or the fictious.
