Las Vegas At Night From 8,799 Feet

Feb 12, 2015 2 comments

After capturing jaw-dropping images of New York City from a helicopter, Vincent Laforet has turned his camera towards the city of sin - Las Vegas. To capture these unprecedented crystal clear pictures, Laforet used a Canon 1DX and a Phase One Credo 50 MP body, each set to 6400 ISO. But this time Vincent convinced his pilot to take him to a still further height – 8,799 feet. Nobody had photographed Las Vegas at night from this high altitude before.

“The most remarkable thing about Vegas isn't the strip itself to me. It's the pattern of perfectly rectilinear streets given the modern and basic layout of the city. I've never seen anything like it from the air,” the photographer told Storehouse.

“It absolutely looks like a computer motherboard or a memory chip from the air. You can almost see the electricity running through it. And then there is the central "Strip" of buildings and hotels - it actually looks like a Monopoly board game of sorts with hotels and little "Eiffel Towers" fit to scale... “

I suspect he doesn't understand what that means.

  2. It basically means "consisting of straight lines", which is precisely what he was describing of the appearance of the streets of Vegas....sooo...kind looks like you may not understand what that means.
