I does look like a pretty cheap scope, but still... they are designed to be sighted through from several inches away. Of course, any good scope actually has an "eye relief" adjustment. <br><br>I once had a nice bruise for several days after shooting my dad's .270, since he likes to get tight in on the scope while deer hunting.
