Even More Cinemagraphs From Jamie Beck and Kevin Burg

Dec 17, 2012 5 comments

Remember Jamie Beck and Kevin Burg? The artistic duo who reinvented animated GIF and whose moving photographs inspired a new genre of photography – cinemagraphs. We have featured their beautiful work twice in the past. Here is a fresh collection of cinemagraphs from them.

Those who are introduced to cinemagraphs for the first time, I highly recommend visiting the early articles. For a more technical explanation of cinemagraphs, I will quote Wikipedia.

They are commonly produced by taking a series of photographs or a video recording, and, using image editing software, compositing the photographs or the video frames into a seamless loop of sequential frames, often using the animated GIF file format in such a manner that motion in part of the subject between exposures (for example, a person's dangling leg) is perceived as a repeating or continued motion, in contrast with the stillness of the rest of the image.
