The Apocalyptic Illustrations of Steve McGhee

Nov 29, 2009 16 comments

Steve McGhee is a digital artist who is obsessed with catastrophes. Come on, accept it … we all are. Armageddon, Independence Day, Terminator, The Day After Tomorrow and the recent 2012 all did bumper business at the box office. Steve McGhee through his insane photo manipulation convey his idea of a catastrophe. Mind blowing stuff.

  3. I wouldn't say bizarre as much as *disturbingly* realistic. Given the increasing unruliness of mother nature and the increasing stupidity of man, I can easily see any, or all (with variants), of those scenes becoming reality. And if the possibility *doesn't* scare the h*ll out of you, I'd strongly suggest opting for, at least, the second good brain cell option on the next go 'round. But I am *so* jealous of this artist. I have plenty of mental images, but the best I can manage is a really bad stick figure....

  4. The probability of the awsome tsunamis is very high, and it all depends on the severity of the shifting of the tectonic plates deep in the earth. So, there's not much we can do to avoid something like this happening. It would help, of course, if countries stopped testing nuclear devices underground. That's the bit where we can impact positively.
