  3. Many artists grow out of this sort of thing. A fine craftsman wasting his talents on cliched erotica.

  4. wow, all the critics - i bet they couldnt take these photos nor paint them this beautifully. my art teacher used to tell me not to paint flowers or mushrooms and that sort of cliche stuff... i think that art is whatever you are inspired by and if you are a talented artist you can make any subject art worthy. this artist has done that masterfully. I love it!

"Cliched erotica"? If this is cliched erotica, then Michelagelo's David must be hardcore pornography.

  10. Art is in the "seeing" and this artist sees everyday, quiet moments with amazing clarity and draftsmanship... whether or not he used photographs for source material or not, who cares? The final product is what is important, not how he did it. Do you think someone is a better for not using whatever tools are available? You might as well say that people who plug guitars into amplifiers are cheating folks out of the "realness" of the music. How bout you tell us where your wunder photos are that you whipped up into an oil painting in five minutes, and we will all come visit and make rotten comments... Keep up the good work, Rob, some of us know about the blood sweat and tears that go into a fantastic piece of art, and we think your work is wonderfully expressive and artistic!

  11. I always tell my car bodywork guy that he isn't really a mechanic, because a real mechanic would use stone-age tools...

  12. They all look kind of fake.. like photos.. especially the last one.

  13. who is the fat girls?????

  14. Yes the critics ...hollow words formed by the shaping of expelled air, it is air. This work, label it as you will, in my humble opinion, is stunning.

  15. Hey, look at that male gaze! That's not cliche'd. You know, sometimes women CAN look at the viewer, I promise. Oh wait, then it might be harder to objectify them. My bad.

  16. wow these are amazing i think i'm going to try to get a poster of one of them for my dorm room

  18. He is really really good at this.
However i think he's having relationship issues, or hes really horny.

Who has watched "The Secret" documetnary?

At one point they talk about an artist who always paints pictures like this, and his realtionship is bad. His relation ship then improves when he paints what he WANTS exactly. n

  19. these are pictures photoshopped right?

  20. Dang! I picked the wrong day to give up fine art.

  21. if these were painted by hand, then they are some of the most wonderful art i have seen in a long time. it brings to mind the great artists of the preraphalite movement, the use of light is delightful. Name me one truly great artists that did not paint beautiful women.
    I am very impressed.
I absolutley love the 12th picture with the red background.

  23. These are beautiful, portraits are hard enough to make interesting to a large group of people. I too am surprised at all of the negative comments, let's see your paintings!!!

  24. His work is much better than most artists I've seen using digital painting.

  25. Ignore the naysayers....none of them could come even close to doing this, but spouting off makes them feel important....there's just nothing uglier than self-righteous stupidity, is there?

Some great artwork here! Beautiful models. He's very good!

  26. Well that really looking too glossy and really its finished up with shine too hot too.

  27. Norman Rockwell painted exclusively from carefully staged photographs and no one today doubts his work is 'real art'. http://bit.ly/8H3PSX For naysayers I'd like to chime in; "Let's see your work!"

  28. really good!! cant distinguish between photo and these paintings!! really good!!

  29. Man, why do people always have to leave bad comments. These paintings are great! I would like to see you paint like this, hahahahaha! Note: if you aren't an artist most likely you should't be critiquing other peoples work!

  30. I have noticed that this other anonymous person who is posting up hatrid criticism is posting fairly similar comments on other artists work who have there art displayed on google images. This person seems to have a psychological issue where he/she brings others down with negativity to alter their own self esteem. Jealousy is a sign of weakness, and in this case mentally. These painting are phenomenal and this artist has a truely amazing gift to create such beatiful art.
** You inspire me in believing my art can one day have an impact on others like yours.

  31. Most amazing art work, if these are truly your paintings you are extremely talented. People leaving bad comments must be deluded or plain stupid! probably the latter.

  32. Gotta love the underboob.

  33. Each one of them is beyond amazing. The realism captured is breathtaking. I'm surprised at the negative comments, paint something on a canvas and them comment.
Its not easy, this man is amazing.

  34. i really liked each one of them. really

    ReplyDelete
  35. Wow! His paintings are truly awesome. Before criticizing someone's work it is important to think how much effort he would have taken for such a painting. Hats off !
